Guenther Boden,MD is the Laura H. Carnell Professor of Medicine,Research Professor of Biochemistry and Chief of the Division of Endocrinology/Diabetes/Metabolism at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia,PA,USA. His main reseach interest is focused on exploring the mechanisms by which obesity causes insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.

Professor Carl Mogensen, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark
Carl Erik Mogensen is Professor of Medicine at the University of Aarhus since 1980. He is a recognized expert in the fields of diabetic renal disease and hypertension, including functional changes. Dr Mogensen has in many trials explored the relationship between hypertension and deterioration of renal function. He has as well in his initial many studies (as the first) showed a positive effect on renal damage by antihypertensive treatment. The fate of diabetic patients has changed radically when his concept was implemented in general practise.
