Long-standing Achievement

Dr Peter H Bennett, MB, FFCM, FRCP, FACE, NIH, Phoenix, USA
Dr Bennett is currently Chief of the Biometry and Data Management Section of the Phoenix Epidemiology and Clinical Research Branch of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Dr Bennett has made an outstanding contribution to research in the field of diabetes and diabetes-related disorders, which has centered primarily on the etiology and pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes and its complications. The epidemiology, genetics and characteristics of type 2 diabetes mellitus and related disorders in the Pima Indians of Arizona and in other susceptible populations have been a main focus of Dr Bennett's research, for which he has achieved worldwide recognition.

Professor Geremia B Bolli, MD, University of Perugia, Italy
Professor Bolli is Full Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Perugia, Italy. Professor Bolli is a prolific author, with a special interest in hypoglycemia in diabetes and its counter-regulation, and intensive insulin therapy.
